Gantry Group study finds that adoption rates and demand for Laszlo Systems' Rich Internet Applications is escalating
June 7th | 2004 By
Laszlo Systems, the premier provider of server software for Rich Internet Applications (RIAs), has announced that according to arecent independent study, more than 11 million consumers to date have used a Laszlo-powered application.
The study was conducted by the Gantry Group, a management consulting firm specializing in measuring technology ROI. The Gantry Group compiled findings by tracking the number of Laszlo application invocations by unique daily visitors since the launch of the Laszlo Presentation Server (LPS) in June 2003, and by performing a series of interviews with current Laszlo customers. In addition to finding that more than 11 million Internet visitors have utilized a Laszlo application, the study also revealed that the adoption rate of RIAs has witnessed significant growth over the past nine months.
One of the biggest challenges with emerging technologies isthe ability to demonstrate ROI. Our report shows that Laszlo has already made traction with brand name customers in high-impact areas of their Web site, and each showed steady gains in unique visitors since June 2003. It’s clear that Laszlo has made great strides in innovation and is one of the RIA leaders when it comesto bottom-line results from external-facing deployments, said Dale Troppito, Managing Partner, Gantry Group.
Laszlo’s partners, such as One to One Interactive, are quick to point out the value of Laszlo’s solutions from a development perspective.
Laszlo’s approach, which is both straightforward and elegant, uses standards-based development methodology that makes building and deploying applications quick and easy, said Ian Karnell,President of One to One Interactive. One to One believes that by incorporating technologies like Laszlo’s for building superior online experiences, interactive marketers can offer consumers the chance to really engage and to become part of the brand itself.
Laszlo recently announced a series of new products and enhancements, including Version 2.1 of LPS, which enables companies to rapidly develop dynamic, highly interactive Web applications that combine a desktop-quality user interface with faster start-up times. The launch of new entry-level pricing and deployment options for both LPS Express Edition and Developer Edition introduced a broader product line to serve multiple users, from small businesses to large, high-volume consumer-facing Web sites and portals.
As Laszlo’s technology continues to evolve to meet the needs of end users, the number of satisfied Laszlo customers is also rising. Market leaders currently using Laszlo’s technology to improve end user satisfaction and productivity include EarthLink, SBC/Yahoo!, BEHR Paints and La Quinta Inns.
Over 48 million Web sites make up today’s Internet, but differentiation and profitability have remained elusive for many, said Antony Campitelli, Vice President of Marketing at Laszlo. Our customers attest that because of the better user experience thatLaszlo applications offer, site visitors stay longer and are more likely to return in the future. What we’re witnessing now is validation that RIA applications are exactly what companies have been looking for to distinguish themselves and attract potential customers.
