M-Commerce: Welcome to the Future
OnetoOne.tv | Episode 2
July 13th | 2011 By
Mobile retailing has exploded in the past year, with almost one third of shoppers having used an m-commerce site, and the number of people completing a transaction quadrupling.
However, while mobile payments have become an important part of Japan’s economy since it was introduced in 1999, the rest of the world is yet to widely embrace m-commerce. With the 2012 London Olympics looming, the major mobile operators are planning to introduce NFC (near filed communication) widely to make purchasing transport and tickets easier.
One to One Insight has conducted independent research, surveying almost 1,000 people to understand customers’ attitudes towards mobile payments and ultimately their propensity to use mobile payments. Dr. Philip Rhodes is your host for this second episode of OneToOne.tv. We invite you to join him as he discusses consumer concerns about mobile payments and addresses whether m-commerce is the future of payments.
